The tournament is to be conducted under the ALC laws of lacrosse except that:
- Games will consist of four 15 minute quarters.
- No body checking without possession (ie no three metre rule).
- No stick checking the gloved hand with excess force.
- Poke checks of a limited length are permitted.
- Balls to be used shall be Kusel balls.
- No ten second clear rule shall apply. (This is a local rule only and as such does not apply in ALC tournaments)
- A one match suspension shall automatically apply to any player who is expelled twice in the tournament. This means that the second expulsion will result in the application of an automatic one match suspension.
- On the final day, matches shall be conducted between first and second teams (after the completion of all minor round games) to determine the tournament winner and 3rd will play 4th, 5th will play 6th and 7th will play 8th.

In addition to these playing rules, the following applies in regards to team selection:
- A maximum of sixteen players per team are to be named before the tournament starts and no more that these sixteen players may be used during the tournament.
- All teams (except the ALC Panthers) must include players from a minimum of 3 clubs and a maximum of 4 clubs in their zone.
- There must be a minimum of two players from each of those lacrosse clubs.
- Any team not satisfying these criteria prior to the commencement of the tournament shall be ineligible to participate in the tournament final. In the event of any team being so ineligible then it shall participate in the lowest ranking final of the tournament.

In any dispute on rules or interpretations the appointed Chief Referee of the tournament will be the arbiter.
